We are an English couple starting out a new life in Bulgaria with our dear friend Kathy. We will be settling in Balgarene and we hope to be able to mix with the local villagers, and make lots of new friends.You know what they say about best laid plans, well we did visit in June but we had to return to the UK. Just a slight set back, our house sale stalled and we had to re plan everything. So in August following the successfull sale of our UK home we purchased a dodge day van and drove to bulgaria, we arrived on the 27th of August 2007. Alas our friend Kathy was not able to join us but will surely be a frequent visitor. We are in a position as of November 2007 to have guests stay and would be glad to assist you if we can. This spring saw the completion of another refurbished room., prices are starting to rise but we are still within budget, late spring will see the property insulating going on, we are hoping to add a conservatory in the summer, this will bring us close to our budget so it looks like a talk to our fund manager before the pool can progress. As we develop our home we will update and more pictures will appear.
The refurb is now complete and the conservatory turned into a sun lounge, all that glass would have been to damn hot, still it is very nice, and a pleasure not to keep tripping over builders all the time, we did go over budget, but it was worth it, we have learnt alot about bulgarian builders, mainly they are very slow and pretend to not understand when things go wrong, but overall we are pleased with the results, we are now meeting more and more english people in this area, which helps as we all share experiances.
